Melvyn has written a very comprehensive and practical guide to all stages of construction from the basics of designing your own instrument through to applying the finishing touches.
I like the way Melvyn discusses a variety of approaches for each task in design and building. I so proceeded to the reading with much disbelief. Ms. This book seems to be more for reading than for looking at the art.
While I can't argue with the other reviewers about the writing quality (which they love, and I have yet to get into) I wish there were more images and more close-ups, to study brushwork (for artists' sake).
At any rate, to be fair, obviously this is not the goal of the author, so oh well maybe I'll appreciate it more as time goes on.. Halelly Azulay offers a rich, fresh resource, brimming with tip, tools, techniques, case examples, and self-assessments for fostering learning and development outside of the classroom, especially in a climate of resource constraints and
