Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro made his debut in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1996. He is best known for Seikimatsu Leader Den Takeshi! for which he won the 46th Shogakukan Manga Award for children's manga in 2001. His current series, Toriko, began serialization in Japan in 2008.
It starts with the business of towing and describes the evolution of that business from the old days when unmaneuverable ships needed to be docked to the present day when giant tankers go aground in nasty seas and need to be salvaged at huge risk by captains and crews who value money and excitement more than their otherwise rather uninteresting lives.
The author writes clearly about different types of boat/barge systems, from the typical chain tow to articulated tug-barges. Beautiful illustrations and a nice story. But there are times that it comes in SO handy while reading your latest birding magazine, or when someone asks you a question you simply don't know the answer to.
If you can track this down, it's well worth having!. (2) the American consumer culture, which has been fine-tuned and optimized to a fare-thee-well: now that it's sucking up Earth's resources how are we going to STOP this monster. I would have saved myself many hours of well meaning but uninformed,
