The book is also a beautiful object in its own right and as the author Simon Brett's work is highly collectible. It is a must have for all those who treasure his work and fine wood engraving in general.
Simon Brett, chairman of the Society of Wood Engravers, is an artist, printmaker and prize winning book illustrator. He taught for 18 years, from 1970 to 1989, and has written widely on the history and practice of wood engraving, editing the Engravers handbooks for the Society of Wood Engravers and the Contemporary Wood Engravers series for Primrose Hill Press, as well as curating major exhibitions for the Society and for the British Council.
Save some money. He looks at life. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is because some of the pictures are small to count and kids really need large objects to count. This book was a great resource with many ideas for projects to do related to Galileo and his life. this is a very informative book and worth taking the time to read. If this doesn't light a fire under you to put in work I don't know what will.. I agree with others that it is more of a reference than a field guide. Until one looks at the emotional issues and conflicts in their life, and seeks to resolve them, then healing of chronic problems can be very challenging. Wang grows as he faces the looming catastrophe. This could mean a sunstantial savings to the bottom line, maybe $2000-3000. Personal & Realistic!!.
